Smartly Built

Mrs.Cardinal has been busy building a nest in a thorny bush in my front yard for the last couple of weeks. I am so amazed by the materials she has chosen! pieces of plastic and twigs! I witness the development of the nest from the beginning. It looks prettier each and every day. I see her patience, hardworking and wonderful skill in building her nest. She’s amazing. I can’t wait to see eggs in it  🙂

The plastic is kind of surprising. I’m wondering if water will pool in the nest, or if the bottom doesn’t have any plastic. Either way it’s interesting that this was an appealing nesting material.

No Debb. No plastic on the bottom of her nest, only on the wall. She’s smart, isn’t she?! 🙂

How interesting to see this nest. I hope you will continue to keep track and (hopefully) photograph the eggs.

I was catching up with your blog by starting with your current post, and then working my way backwards. So I ended up watching all the eggs disappear. DOH!!! :-/
